Aren't green smoothies healthiest?
While "green" smoothies may well be a bit healthier than fruity, ANY properly made smoothie is healthier than most other ingestibles. DetoxifyU's smoothie recommendations are most concerned with good taste, very high alkalinity, and sating hunger enough to quell desire for solid food.
Green is not a color description.
No need for green smoothies to be the color green. The green describes ingredients, not color. Any added green, from spinach to spirulina powder, equals greening a smoothie, even if the smoothie's color (and flavor) is the pink of strawberry/banana. Masking greens in a fruity-tasting smoothie is a clever way to get more greens in the body.
Aren't frozen fruits worse than garden fresh?
Frozen fruit is fresh. Fruit is flash frozen soon after being picked, so it can be reasonably argued that frozen fruit is fresher than store-bought "fresh" fruit. Frozen fruits are fresh, alkaline, and great for a chilled smoothie.
Why are sweets recommended?
All "sweetaculars" in the Smoothie Cycle are alkaline and not processed. DetoxifyU uses one or more sweetaculars in every smoothie. In some greener smoothies, to edge the taste to sweetness, DetoxifyU adds enough honey to choke a bear.
Smoothies can be made quickly, refrigerate for 2 or 3 days, and can be frozen to keep fresh longer, without losing taste or nutrition.
